Obama keeps stating over and over that the healthcare plan he is promoting and pushing onto the American people is not somehow “a trojan horse” that will lead to a single payer healthcare system. But, the following video reveals in his own works that his main goal is to achieve a single payer system. He also shockingly states the following:
“I don’t think we’re going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There’s going to be potentially some transition process…”
Also, in 2003 he told an AFL-CIO Civil, Human and Women’s Rights Conference:
I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal healthcare plan…That’s what I’d like to see.”
The video continues by showing Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) saying on July 27 2009:
I think that if we get a good public option, it could lead to a single payer, and that’s the best way to reach single payer.
This clear evidence illustrating Obama’s desire for a single payer system leads me to ask the following simple questions. How can we truly believe him when he states that under his plan we will be able to keep our current insurer? How is this possible if his stated goal is to eliminate private insurers? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to quickly realize the answers to these questions.
