Sarah Palin has officially taken the glove off by stating that Obama’s political career was launched in the living room of a domestic terrorist.  She is referring to Obama’s friendly association with a member of the “weather underground” Bill Ayers.  Obama held a fundraiser in Ayers’ home when he decided to run for the Illinois State Senate.

Dennis Conrad and Christopher Wills have an column at townhall.com shedding light on an ethics bill in Illinois that Obama likes to take credit for.  The column states:

Barack Obama likes to give himself star billing for his role in enacting ethics reforms in Illinois a decade ago, but he didn’t act alone.

“When I was in Illinois, I passed the toughest ethics reform in 25 years there, despite the opposition of Democrats and Republicans,” the Democratic presidential candidate told a New Hampshire audience last month.

In fact, Obama was part of an ensemble that negotiated the legislation and built support for it. And the ethics bill passed by lopsided margins of 52-4 in the Senate and 102-3 in the House, although its riskier moments came earlier during those behind-the-scene negotiations that Obama was heavily involved in.

This video illustrates exactly who the group “the weather underground” is and how Bill Ayers is associated with them.  Obama has had a very close and friendly relationship with Bill Ayers throughout his political career.

Ayers was very public about his life and aspirations.  He wrote a book about it in 2001.  Even a Chicago Magazine did a lengthy profile on him at the time which was complete with pictures of Ayers standing on an American flag thrown on the ground in an alley.  Nevertheless, Obama continued to work with Ayers at the Woods Fund and work together on public events.

Considering the fact that all this information on Ayers was public knowledge I find it hard to believe that any politician would work with him at the Woods Fund and then work together on public events.  Either Obama liked what Ayers did or he’s the most clueless politician to ever reach the US Senate.  Obama apparently doesn’t read newspapers.

Amanda Carpenter over at Townhall.com has a great column showing Obama’s hypocrisy when it comes to the “Keating Five”. The column begins by asking an excellent question.

If Barack Obama is so outraged at John McCain’s involvement in the Keating Five scandal, why is John Glenn, another Keating Five member, doing surrogate work for Obama?

According to Obama’s presidential website Glenn held conference calls with reporters for Obama in August.
