image482290158.jpgI just cast my vote for free market capitalism and against socialism. If you don’t want to wake up the morning of November 5th only to discover that this nation has just elected the most radical, inexperienced candidate ever then you need to get out and vote.

Vote no on “spreading the wealth around” and “redistribution of wealth”.

Vote no to the most radical pro-abortion candidate to ever run for office.

Vote no on socializing our healthcare system.

Vote no to a candidate who has shown poor judgement in the company he keeps. ( Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, etc.)

Vote no on hundreds of billions in more government spending.

Vote no to the candidate who will wave the white flag of surrender.

Vote no to the candidate who admitted to doing drugs in high school.

Vote no to the candidate who will appoint radical judges to help “redistribute wealth.”

Vote no to the candidate who recently voted to raise taxes on people just making $42,000 per year.

Priorities: Obama Doesn’t Want Photo ID to Vote, But He Does Insist on Photo ID to Attend His Would-Be Victory Party October 29, 2008

This is too funny.  If you require voters to present a photo ID you are being racist.  I guess Obama is being racist when he insists that a photo ID be required to attend his would-be victory party.

From Jeff Emanuel over at RedState.com:

In 2006, the Los Angeles Times decided an audio tape it had obtained of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, an apologetic Republican, in which he said of latina Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia (R-80), “She seems to me like Cuban … She maybe is Puerto Rican or the same thing as Cuban. I mean, they are all very hot. They have the, you know, part of the black blood in them and part of the Latino blood in them that together makes it,” was front-page news.

“The governor is heard on a six-minute recording, obtained by The Times, of a meeting with some members of his inner circle last spring,” wrote Robert Salladay in the page A-1 story on the recording. “At the time, Schwarzenegger was struggling to persuade Republican lawmakers to embrace his plan to place billions of dollars in borrowing on the November ballot.”

Now, I know commenting on heritage is, to our P.C.-police media, a far worse crime than palling around with terrorists (or even than committing terrorist acts, to judge by recent events like the LAT’s call for a full pardon of “American Taliban” John Walker Lindh).

However, its history of baring all when it comes to tapes – both audio and video – that it obtains once again begs the question asked repeatedly here on RedState: Why won’t the Times allow the public to see its video of Barack Obama, along with Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, toasting former Palestinian Liberation Organization spokesman Rashid Khalidi at a 2003 event honoring the Arafat disciple and his wife?

Peter Wallsten, writing in the Times about the video this past April, said speakers at the 2003 event celebrating Khalidi “recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians,” threatened that Israel “will never see a day of peace,” and “likened Zionist settlers on the West Bank to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been blinded by ideology.”

However, wrote Wallsten, Obama “adopted a different tone in his comments and called for finding common ground.”

On the latter, we are expected to simply take Wallsten’s word for it, as the Timescontinues to steadfastly refuse to release the video of the event.

McCain spokesman Michael Goldfarb today called on the Times to release the video, saying, “A major news organization is intentionally suppressing information that could provide a clearer link between Barack Obama and Rashid Khalidi. The election is one week away, and it’s unfortunate that the press so obviously favors Barack Obama that this campaign must publicly request that the Los Angeles Times do its job — make information public.”

Based on its decision so far not to let the public see what its staffers claim is a completely innocuous video of the Democratic presidential nominee at an event celebrating a former terrorist mouthpiece, it appears to be a pretty safe bet that this is going to continue to be kept under wraps until after next Tuesday at very least.

This video could very well have nothing on it that would hurt Obama’s chances next week. If that is the case, then the LAT and the Obama campaign are doing their collectively-chosen candidate a disservice by allowing speculation to continue about what exactly is on the video.

Much like the Obama campaign could have nipped the lunatic fringe’s obsession with his birth in the bud by simply releasing his birth certificate — something it continues to inexplicably refuse to do — the LAT would be best served, if this tape really is as innocuous as the public is expected to believe, by simply getting this over with and letting it be seen.

Likewise, the Obama campaign would seem to benefit more from leaning on the Timesto go ahead and release the tape already, so as to end the mounting speculation about its contents and prevent more fallout from the perceived coverup of this event – if, that is, the video’s contents are as innocuous as we have been led to believe.

After all, they might not be, and until the LA Times and the Obama campaign deign to release the video for all to see, we will have nothing to do but continue speculating about just what it may contain that so many are so desperate that none ever see.

Call the Los Angeles Times at (213) 237-5000 and demand that they actually do their job and release this video.

HYPE: The Obama Effect, a new video examining the Hype surrounding Barack Obama October 29, 2008

Citizens United Productions has produced a video examining the hype surrounding Barack Obama. They promote the video with the following:

A movement is sweeping the nation. Frenzied crowds gather in every state. Young people chant and sing. Women swoon. The result is record voter turn out and a rare political enthusiasm. At the head of this unprecedented phenomenon stands a charismatic figure intent on becoming the President of the United States.

“I’m asking you to believe.”
“We are the ones we have been waiting for.”
“Yes, we can!”
“Change.”
“Hope.”

These words, from Barack Obama, have inspired everything from outrageous videos to the largest campaign fundraising success in history. He has taken what was considered a sure bet Clinton machine and turned it on its head. His supporters claim he is the new Martin Luther King, Jr. He is hailed as this generation’s John F. Kennedy. This documentary explores the HYPE behind Barack Obama.

Heritage Calls on Obama to Pull False Ads October 28, 2008

The Heritage Foundation has asked Barack Obama to immediatly pull two ads that misrepresent the views of Heritage’s Rea Hederman.  Obama’s campaign has released a 30 second TV ad with false information.  This false information is also repeated on the campaign website.  The following letter was sent by Heritage lawyer Alan P. Dye to the Obama campaign:

Dear Senator Obama:

Two recent campaign advertisements seriously misrepresent the views of my client, The Heritage Foundation. They suggest, quite falsely, that The Heritage Foundation and one of its analysts support your tax plan.

The print ad on your Website as well as your ad entitled “Try This” reference a quote from policy analyst Rea Hederman. In fact, Mr. Hederman never said what is quoted there. Rather, the words you quote are from a New York Sun reporter who interviewed Mr. Hederman and summarized his views erroneously.

That the reporter’s summary is erroneous is evident from the actual quotes from Mr. Hederman presented in the article, which make it quite clear that Mr. Hederman believes your tax plan would be bad not only for the country, but for the middle class. By omitting the direct quotes from Heritage that are contained in the article and attributing to Heritage a conflicting statement not made by its analyst, the advertisement appears to be an intentional attempt to mislead.

Surely there can be no doubt within your campaign as to how Heritage truly views your tax plan. When one of your economic advisors, Jeffrey Liebman, made this same misrepresentation in a September 4, 2008 letter to The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Hederman promptly sent a corrective and very public letter. It appeared in the September 16 issue of The Wall Street Journal under the title: “A Bad Plan That Is Less Bad Is Still Not A Very Good Plan.” In it, Mr. Hederman strenuously decried Mr. Liebman’s blatant misrepresentation and set the record straight.

The Heritage Foundation believes that your advertisements’ use of its name is not only not a fair use of its intellectual property, but is an intentional attempt to mislead and misinform voters. As a responsible candidate, you should insist that your campaign cease to run these false advertisements immediately.

Very truly yours,
Alan P. Dye

An Experiment in Wealth Redistribution October 28, 2008

A friend of mine recently sent me a link to a webpage that has an interesting story about an experiment in wealth redistribution.  I’m not sure who the author of the article is but I though it was interesting.  It’s appropriately titled “Redistribution of Wealth”.

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign the read “Vote Obama, I need the money.” I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a “Obama 08″ tie, again I
laughed–just imagine the coincidence.

Suddenly, it hit me. An experiment is in order.

I asked the server, did he really believe that Obama’s platform was a good one? Yes, he did.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept.

He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his
tip to someone who I deemed more in need – the homeless guy outside. The
server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10, and told him to thank the server
inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was
grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter
was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn, even though the
actual recipient needed the money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept
than in practical application – at least if it is your wealth that is being redistributed.

UCLA Economists: Government Intervention Prolonged Great Depression October 27, 2008

Paul Detrick over at NewsBusters.org has a very good write up exposing how UCLA economists studied the policies of President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal and determined it actually prolonged the Depression by seven years.

Detrick writes the following:

Harold L. Cole and Lee E. Ohanian blamed anti-free market measures for the slow recovery in an article published in the August 2004 issue of the Journal of Political Economy.

Cole and Ohanian asserted that Roosevelt thought excessive business competition led to low prices and wages, adding to the severity of the Depression.

“[Roosevelt] came up with a recovery package that would be unimaginable today, allowing businesses in every industry to collude without the threat of antitrust prosecution and workers to demand salaries about 25 percent above where they ought to have been, given market forces. The economy was poised for a beautiful recovery, but that recovery was stalled by these misguided policies,” Cole said in a press release dated Aug. 10, 2004.

The professors paid particular attention to the National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) and the effect it had on competition. Passed in June 1933, the NIRA required companies to write industry-wide fair competition codes that fixed prices and wages, established production quotas, and imposed restrictions on companies if they wanted to enter into alliances, according to OurDocuments.gov.

The Supreme Court declared the NIRA unconstitutional two years after it was passed, but Cole and Ohanian said that the act caused enough damage during those two years leading to even more regulation.

Confirmed: MSM Holds Video Of Barack Obama Attending Jew-Bash & Toasting a Former PLO Operative… Refuse to Release the Video!

From Gateway Pundit:

“The LA Times is holding a video that shows Barack Obama celebrating with a group of Palestinians who are openly hostile towards Israel. Barack Obama even gives a toast to a former PLO operative at this celebration. If the American public saw this side of Barack Obama he would never be elected president.
But, the media refuses to release this video.”

Jim Hoft continues:

It’s hard to imagine that the LA Times would hold onto a video of Sarah Palin praising an anti-Semitic radical and former PLO operative…
But, that is today’s mainstream media.
